Jef has been providing training and consulting services in manufacturing, communication, computer systems, marketing and financial services for over 20 years. His primary expertise lies in performance improvement in the administrative, product development and manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

Jef was the Lead Instructor for two Ford Motor Company Six Sigma programs; Six Sigma Leadership and Six Sigma Train-the-Trainer for Black Belts and Master Black Belts. He also delivered classes for Motorola University in Basic Statistics and Design of Experiments as well an Applied Statistics class for Urban Science (a marketing company).

Prior to becoming a full-time consultant and trainer, Jef spent four years with RWD Technologies where he was Chief Engineer and Director of Manufacturing Services. Jef has also worked for the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (R&D), where he was the Manager of Technology Transfer, and for Chrysler Corporation as the Supervisor of Manufacturing Training.

Jef holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from CMU. He is a certified Manufacturing Engineer (SME) and a Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ), and has written and presented many papers on training and automation at international conferences.

Select Project Experience:

Facilitated Process Improvement for Recall Processing. The Recall Processing Improvement Project had both legal and efficiency implications. Historical performance put average processing time at 180 days. Project goal was to reduce the time to 75 days on average. Project outcome; all recalls were processed within 30 days. After one year (the last follow-up) not one recall took more than 30 days to process.

Facilitated Process Improvement for Owner Loyalty Improvement. The Owner Loyalty Improvement Project
was launched after market research showed about 50% Owner Loyalty. Through VOC research the team determined that the Sales and Service Experience at the Dealers was the prime factor in causing customers to defect. The team implemented actions (including Dealer training, new Dealer performance measures, as well as new rewards and punishments) that resulted in a 10% improvement in Owner Loyalty over 3 years.

Lead Instructor and consultant for Systems Engineering. A program designed specifically for Product Development Engineers and intended to improve product integration between sub-systems. The program focused on the Product Development Process, improving the linkages from customer expectations to vehicle level specifications as well as the cascade of requirements from vehicle to sub-system to component.
